The Fresno County Jail is operated and managed by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department is the agency responsible for keeping and maintaining an up to date database of all current inmates.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates in the Fresno County Jail can receive written letters from their family and friends. These letters will be checked by jail staff upon arrival for safety issues. After the staff examines all the mail, they will pass them out to the correct inmates. 

When sending items to the prison along with your letters, there are a lot of things you should refrain from sending. Such as the following:

Inmates will need money while they are in the Fresno County Jail. You can deposit money into an inmate's account in a few different ways.

You can come down to the Fresno County Jail and use the TouchPay Kiosk that is in the lobby of the jail during business hours. The TouchPay kiosk accepts credit, debit, or cash.

If you do not live near the facility, you can go online to TouchPay and deposit money there. You will need to use the MCSO Facility #293721.

$20.01 between $100.00: $4.45 fee
$101.01 between $300.00: $5.95 fee

Phone calls

Inmates at the Fresno County Jail cannot receive phone calls from their family or friends. However, inmates can call their family and friends during their phone time. The phone time is limited to 15-minute calls. Once the 15-minutes is up, the call will be disconnected. 

Inmates are not permitted to use any calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding. If you are found using these features, the call will be terminated immediately, and action will be taken against the inmate. 

Inmates at the Fresno County Jail can only make collect calls. Inmates will only be allowed to call individuals who still have a landline. The individuals who have cell phones will not be able to receive these collect calls. The receiver of the call is the one responsible for any and all charges from the phone call. The Fresno County Jail is not responsible for any fees from the calls.


Inmates in the Fresno County Jail can receive visitors. Keep in mind that all visitors under the age of 18 will are permitted to visit, but they will need to be accompanied by their legal guardian. All visitors will be required to present either their driver’s license, state identification card, or their United States Passport, before being permitted to visit.

Remember, all your personal belongings will be required to stay in your car. No personal belongings will be permitted to be in the visitation area.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.

How Often Can I Visit?
