Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates are permitted to receive written letters while they are in the Orange County Jail. This is one of the ways that inmate’s family and friends can keep in touch with them.

When sending your letter, please remember to put your return address on the envelope. This will help officials return your letter, if they need to.

You are not permitted to send cash or checks through the mail. The only item you can send through the mail is money orders. This will be to fund the inmate’s account. On the money order, you will need to have the inmate’s full name and booking number.

You are not permitted to send the following items:

Inmates can receive books, magazines, and newspapers. The books, magazines, and newspapers must be delivered to the prison directly from the bookstore or the publisher. You can use sites like Amazon to do this. All incoming books are required to be paperback. Hardcover books are not permitted and will be returned. There is a limit of 4 items per shipment.

Inmates will need money while in the Orange County Jail to purchase things from the commissary and to be able to use the phone to call home.

You can fund the inmate’s account in a few different ways.

When depositing funds into the inmate’s account, all items will be required to be payable to the inmate and have their inmate number on it. You must also have your name and address on all items excluding any government checks.

Make sure you do not make any mistakes when making things payable to someone. If anything is altered, does not have the correct information, or missing information you will get the funds sent back to you.

You can deposit funds into an inmate’s account between the hours of 8:45am to 8:45pm, 7 days a week.

You can also use Western Union to transfer money into an inmate's account. You will need the following information to successfully do that.

Visitation

All visits at the Orange County Jail will be video visits. This is a non-contact visit. You will see the inmate on a computer screen. You will not be able to sit with them, see them behind glass, or any of that. All visits are strictly non-contact. There are no other visits.

Inmates are permitted 3 visits per calendar week. The visitation hours are 9am to 10pm, daily. All visits are subjected to recording and monitoring.

If you would like to visit an inmate, you are required to make an appointment. You are required to call (407) 836-8061 at least 24 hours before you would like to visit.

When coming down to the Orange County Jail for your visit, please arrive 15-minutes early. You will need to bring either your driver’s license, passport, or your state identification card.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
