RRM Miami is commonly known as the Miami Residential Reentry Management. The facility is essentially the last step for inmates before they are released back into the community. Majority of inmates in the Miami Reentry Management were transferred to this facility from a federal prison. Inmates here typically are at the end of their sentences and needs a little bit of guidance until they are brought back into the community.

Sending a Mail/Care Package
Inmates can also receive magazines, books, and newspapers. These items must be sent to the prison directly from the publisher. All books are required to be paperback. Hardcover books will not be accepted.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to send a care package without prior approval from an authorized prison staff member. However, you can send release clothing and authorized medical equipment without prior approval.

Sending Money
Each inmate can be placed in a few housing locations. You will have to get in contact with the RRM Supervisor of the inmate to get information on where you can send money.
Visitation
Another big part of their recovery process is having visitors. Visitors will first need to be on the approved list. This list does not accept felons. If you are not on the list, you will need to fill out the form. The form can be found on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. Once you submit the form, it will take about a month before you hear anything back.
Once you are accepted, you will be able to visit inmates during their visitation hours. Children under the age of 16 can visit when they accompanied by their legal guardian. No alone visits with the inmate for children under the age of 16.

Prison Life
Inmates housed in the Miami Residential Reentry Management are housed in dormitory style housing. Within the dormitories, there are communal bathrooms and common areas. Inmates will have access to all the amenities inside their housing. Inmates will also have to bunk with their fellow inmates too. Inmates will not have their own personal space. Everything here at the Miami Reentry Management is shared.
Just like other federal prisons, the Miami Residential Reentry Management provides inmates with a structured day. However, their structure is not as strict as other federal prisons. While they do have somewhat of a structure, it provides inmates with how their day should look like when they are no longer in their care.
Inmates who are healthy enough to work, will work. Working is a vital tool for those who are about to be released. Through the work assignments that the Miami Residential Reentry Management offer, inmates will receive on the job training. The Miami Residential Reentry Management does not only have jobs within the prison’s premises, but they also have jobs outside the prison walls. The facility contracts with a few organizations in the community to help inmates learn the necessary job skills to land a job when they are released from custody.
Inmates who are not healthy enough to work, will be required to enroll in a drug education class, educational courses, or release preparation classes. Even inmates who have jobs can still partake in these programs. All the programs that Miami Residential Reentry Management has to offer is there to help inmates seamlessly enter back into society.
One big part of the inmate’s rehabilitation process is to have a support system on the outside. Inmates can receive letters from their family and friends. This is a big part of their recovery.
