FCI Jesup is commonly known as the Federal Correctional Institution, Jesup. The facility is a medium-security federal prison in Georgia. FCI Jesup houses male inmates. It is operated and managed the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Adjacent to FCI Jesup there are two satellite prison camps. One satellite prison camp is a low-security facility. The other satellite prison is a minimum-security facility. Both satellite prison camps house male inmates.
FCI Jesup first opened their doors back in 1989. Back in 1989, the facility was just a prison camp. The original prison camp from back then was converted into the FSL. It was not until a year later when FCI was activated. FCI Jesup was originally only designed to house around 744 male inmates, and the FSL was supposed to hold 506 inmates. The camp can only house 128 inmates.
As of early 2000, the minimum-security satellite prison camp was home to nearly 300 male inmates. Most of these inmates are were drug addicts or white-collar criminals. A notable inmate was Ben Reyes, who was serving time for bribery and conspiracy.
As of 2011, the facility only houses adult males in all its facility. This included 1,150 male inmates in the medium-security main campus, 150 male inmates in the minimum-security satellite prison camp, and 605 male inmates in the low-security satellite prison camp.
FCI Jesup is a little over 100 miles northwest of Jacksonville, but 65 south of Savannah, Georgia.
FCI Jesup is a federal prison. The easiest way to lookup an inmate in federal prisons is going to the BOP website.
They have a database where you can search all federal inmates.

The commissary was founded in 1930 by the Department of Justice. The Commissary was placed in all Federal Institutions.
The commissary allows inmates to shop for “luxury” items while they are in prison. Funds are typically deposited by their friends, families, and their prison jobs.
Inmates have a spending limit of $360 per month. The commissary is only open on a designated day of the week where they can utilize the shop.
All federal prisons have their commissary list with prices available to the public.
Even when in prison, you may still need legal counsel. There are strict procedures one will have to follow to obtain legal reference materials alongside their legal counsel.
There are also many opportunities to be taken advantage of to afford the proposal of legal documents when behind bars.
All procedures for legal activities can be located here.
