The Monroe County Jail provides three ways that family and friends can send money to an inmate. Using any of the three options below will instantly put money into an inmate’s account.
There are kiosks in the lobby of the jail. They can be mistaken for an ATM machine, but this machine does not give out money, it takes it instead and puts it directly into the inmate’s commissary account. The kiosk accepts $5 bills or higher along with debit and credit cards that are either MasterCard or Visa.

Inmates use to be able to purchase a phone card from the commissary; however, that has been phased out. They can still head on down to the commissary and purchase time increments if they so choose.
However, if you, the family member or friend would like to fund their account from the outside you can do that.
Monroe County Jail contracts with Securus Technologies for their telephone service. The company offers 3 different plans for you to choose from.
This option is the prepaid calling option. This will allow you to be in control of how much money you are spending for phone time. It is very useful for those trying to stick to a budget.
This option is like your own personal phone service, you will get a monthly bill for the time you used. This can get expensive, if you do not pay attention to how long you are using the phone service.
This plan is typically for friends and family of inmates who will be behind bars for a long period of time, bail bondsmen, and attorneys.
Keep in mind, this plan does require a credit check to qualify.
This option will allow inmates to fund their own telephone account. The debit comes directly from the inmate’s phone account, so you do not have to make an account like in the previous two options. You will still be able to put money into the account, but the account will not be tied to your name.
Inmates can receive visitors. The visitation schedule goes by the inmates last name.
If you can’t visit during those times above, the Monroe County Jail also offers visitation on these two days below. These are for all inmates.
Before you can visit, you will need to make sure you brought your government ID. You will have to pass a metal detector too.
Visitors must adhere to the jails dress code. You cannot wear the following:
Visitors will not be able to bring anything into the visitation area. You will need to store all your personal belongings in your automobile before entering the facility.
If you fail to adhere to the rules, you will be denied visitation rights, right on the spot.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
Inmates are permitted two 20-minute visits per week.
