The Boone County Jail is in Burlington, Kentucky. The facility is operated and managed by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. 

The jail can hold up to 424 inmates. These inmates range from minimum-security all the way up to maximum-security inmates. Next to the main facility, there is a work camp facility that can house up to 76 minimum-security offenders.

Inmates in the Boone County Jail can receive written letters from their family and friends. These letters will be checked by jail staff upon arrival for safety issues. After the staff examines all the mail, they will pass them out to the correct inmates.

Inmates in the Boone County Jail will need money, so they can purchase items in the commissary.

When making a deposit into an inmate’s account, you will need their name and their booking number. You can deposit money in person by using the kiosk in the jail during regular business hours.

Visitation

Inmates in the Boone County Jail can receive visitors. Keep in mind that all visitors under the age of 18 will are permitted to visit, but they will need to be accompanied by their legal guardian. All visitors will be required to present either their driver’s license, state identification card, or their United States Passport, before being permitted to visit. 

Remember, all your personal belongings will be required to stay in your car. No personal belongings will be permitted to be in the visitation area. 

All visits in the Boone County Jail will be no-contact video visits. This means you will only be able to see the inmate on a computer screen. You will not be able to see them in person. 

The Boone County Jail offers video visits from the jail or remote (from home). If you choose the remote option, you will be responsible for having all the necessary equipment, such as a computer, webcam, and high-speed internet.

Visitation takes place on the following days during the following hours:

Thursday: 7am to 12pm
Saturday: 7am to 12pm

Keep in mind that Tuesday is only for inmates with their last name beginning with A to M. Thursday is only for inmates with their last name beginning with N to Z. Saturday is for everyone.

You can visit an inmate on their designated day above. Remember during their weekday you can visit for 30 minutes and on Saturday you can visit for 15 minutes.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
