The Clinton Jail is also commonly known as the Clinton Detention Center. Clinton Jail is one of the two facilities that makes up the Kennebec County. The other facility is the Kennebec County Jail.
The Clinton Jail is also known as the Downtown Detention Center. It holds those inmates who are waiting to get transferred to their “home” prison or inmates waiting to make bond.

Finding someone in the Clinton Jail is easier than ever now. You can quickly do an inmate search from the comfort of your own. You can see who’s in the city and county jail without making phone call after phone call.
The database is available on the state of Clinton official website. You can search the database by the inmates first and last name, what facility they are in, gender, booking number, CD number.
When you do your search, you will come with their first and last name, other personal identifying information, what they are being charged with, and case details.
Inmates can receive letters from their family and friends. Inmates can also receive books too. The books must be softcover books. The books must be sent either from the store or a publisher.

There are three ways to fund an inmate's account.
You can fund an account by using the kiosk in the Downtown Detention Facility. The kiosks take cash or credit card payments. You will need to know the inmate’s CD number in order to put money in their account.
Another way you can fund an inmate's account is to use postal money orders and drop them off at the information desk in the Clinton Jail. Again, you will need to inmate’s CD number.
The last way you can fund an inmate's account is by using Access Corrections. Again, you will need the inmate’s CD number to finish the transaction. However, this method incurs a fee.
You are not allowed to call or leave messages for inmates in the Clinton Jail. However, if there is a death in the family, they may give the inmate the message in those circumstances.
However, inmates can call their friends and family back home. The Clinton Jail contracts with Securus Technologies. You will need to either go to their official website to create an account, or you will need to give them a call at 1-800-844-6591.
Inmates at Clinton Jail does not have access to the internet. However, unlike other city jail, Clinton Jail does not offer their inmates any sort of program or service that will allow them to email their family and friends.
The Clinton Jail has a commissary store. Inmates can put in their order if they have money in their commissary account. They will then receive the items on their day of the week that the commissary comes. Inmates cannot spend more than $175 a week.

Keep in mind that all visits are video only visits at the Clinton Jail.
If you have not received an email confirmation or a phone call confirmation means your visit has not been approved. Your visit may not have been approved because you are missing information, invalid dates, invalid times, session time is full, inmates have no more visits left, or inmate is busy that day.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
Inmates at the Clinton Jail are permitted 2 visits per week. You will need to work with other friends and family member to make sure everyone will be able to visit.
All inmates in the Clinton Jail are permitted three meals every day. Clinton Jail bakes their bread in the jail kitchen weekly. All food coming out of the jail kitchen is under controlled sanitary conditions.
