The Massachusetts Department of Correction is the agency responsible for keeping and maintaining an updated database on all inmates doing time in Massachusetts state prisons.
The state of Massachusetts takes advantage of VINE. VINE is short for Victim Information and Notification Every day. You can search VINE by their offender ID or their first and last name. VINE allows you to get notifications to your email, your smartphone, or your landline when an offender is transferred or released.
You can also call the Massachusetts Department of Correction at (508) 422-3300. While the state of Massachusetts uses VINE, the city and county jails keep their records separately from the state.
