A big part of their recovery process is to have a support team on the outside. Inmates need to know when they get out of prison that they have a support system to fall back on when times get tough. Therefore, sending letters to inmates is important for their family and friends to do. Family and friends can send letters. These letters will be checked for contraband and any offensive content before the inmate will receive it.
Inmates can also receive newspapers, books, and magazines too. However, these items will need to be sent directly to the prison from the publisher. All incoming books must be paperback only.
Unfortunately, you will need prior approval from an authorized prison staff member to send a care package.
