The Lawrence County Jail is in Monticello, Mississippi. The jail is situated at PO Box 816, Monticello, MS, 39654. The Lawrence County Jail is the only jail in the Lawrence County that all law enforcement agencies use.

How to Find Someone in Lawrence County Jail

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates can receive letters from their family and friends. Letters are delivered to inmates Monday through Friday by the United States Postal Service.

All incoming mail will be opened and checked by the jail staff.

Inmates can receive books, newspapers, magazines, however, they need to be sent directly from the publishers. Any books sent from a personal address will be denied.

When legal mail is sent, it will still be opened by jail staff, but instead, it will be opened in the presence of the inmate it was addressed to.

Sending Money

To fund an inmate’s account, the Lawrence County Jail takes money orders. When making the money order, you will need to make sure it has their first and last name, housing assignment and docket number. You bring money orders to the visitation center 7 days a week.

Visitation

In order to visit an inmate, you must schedule an appointment. All visitation appointments are 40 minutes long.

There is a three-person max for visitation. This means either 1 adult and 2 children, 3 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child.

Minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian. All adults must have a government ID handy in order to get into the visitation area.
