The Seward County Jail has a contract with Smart Jail Mail. Smart Jail Mail uses kiosks that are in the housing units for inmates to use. This method is essentially emailing their loved ones. This system was put into place to allow the Seward County Jail to ensure the safety of inmates, staff, and their families.

Inmates are no longer allowed to use pen and paper to write out their letters. All letters will now have to go through Smart Jail Mail.

There will be kiosks in the lobbies of each jail. With these kiosks, you can use debit, credit, or cash to fund the accounts. There is also a fee that incurs with using this service.

Visitation

Visitation schedule is on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Visitation is not available on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

All adults must have their government ID present. Minors must be accompanied by their legal guardians, or a person over the age of 18 that has a copy of the minor’s birth certificate. You can get the birth certificate at the Department of Vital Statistics.

Visitors must also follow the jail dress code. If you fail to comply with any of the guidelines for visitation, you will be rejected for visitation rights.
