About New Jersey Department of Corrections

The New Jersey Department of Corrections is the agency responsible for keeping an updated database on individuals serving out their time in New Jersey state prisons.

The database only keeps former inmates records online for one year after they finished their sentence. After that, they will not be in the public database available to the public. You can search the database by their SBI number, first and last name, gender, aliases, and other pertinent information.

Unlike the state of New Jersey, New Jersey’s city and county jails keep their own individual databases separated from the department of corrections. If you are looking for an inmate in a city or county prison, you will need to contact the proper authorities.
