The Alamance County Detention Center – Annex is in Graham, North Carolina. The jails mission is to serve the public with care and compassion. They also make it their job to make sure that inmates are treated with respect and treated fairly, while keeping a safe, secure, and humane environment for everyone involved.

The jail does not only deal with current inmates, but they also make it their mission to support prior inmates when they go back into society by providing them a lot of programs that will help them keep a positive attitude and make sure they change their behaviors.

The jail can hold up to 80 inmates. The jail has employees in health services, main jail, work & release programs, booking & transportation, training, and citizen liaison, central support services, contract services divisions, and professional standards and accreditation.

Writing materials can be purchased from the commissary. Inmates cannot communicate with other inmates in any other Alamance County facilities.

Any family and friends that want to write to write to the inmate must be put on the Request/Refusal Form for the staff to approve.

All incoming mail is subjected to being inspected by a jail staff. Outgoing mail will be checked to make sure the communication is not presenting any danger, escape plans, or extortion.

You can send money to help fund inmates a few different ways.

In-Person

You can put money in your inmate’s accounts in person. You can deposit cash into the kiosks available in the video visitation center and the main jail lobby in Alamance County Detention Center – Annex. The video visitation center is open from 8:30am to 8:30 pm. The main jail lobby is open from 7am to 11pm.

Online

You can fund your inmates account in Alamance County Detention Center – Annex online. You will have to create a TouchPay account. There is a fee that incurred with using this service.

Mail

When sending money orders in the mail, you need to make it payable to the inmate using their first and last name. You will send the money order to the following address:

Visitation

Visitation must be scheduled through the Alamance County Detention Center – Annex’s website. Visitation can be scheduled no more than 7 days ahead of time. Visits that are canceled with less than 24 hours to the appointment will still count as a visit.

Both inmates and visitors are required to adhere to all visitation rules. If rules are broken, that could lead to termination of the visit or loss of visitation privileges.

How Often Can I Visit?

Inmates in Alamance County Detention Center – Annex can have 3 forty-minute long visitation sessions a week. These sessions can include 2 adults.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
