Sending Money

You can fund an inmate’s account by dropping money off at the Canton Jail. There is a limit of $100 that can be deposited at a time.

Phone calls

As of right now, the Canton Jail does not offer any email type of services as some other jails do.

Inmates do not have access to the internet from behind bars, but some jails have programs that will allow inmates to send messages to their family and friends in real time. Canton Jail currently does not offer this service to their inmates.

Visiting Rules

Visitation for inmates at the Canton Jail is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Inmates are permitted two visits a week. The visitation days will depend on where they reside inside the Canton Jail.

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.

Prison Life

Inmates that are held at Canton Jail have either been sentenced, and this is the jail they will be serving their sentence out in or they are currently awaiting their trial.

Inmates who have already been sentenced and will be serving out their time in Canton Jail typically carry a sentence of less than a year. This is due to the lack of inmate housing that they have.
