Sending a Mail/Care Package

Each inmate can be placed in a few housing locations. You will have to get in contact with the RRM Supervisor of the inmate to get information on where you can send packages.

Inmates can receive written correspondences from their family and friends. They can also receive books, magazines, and newspapers. The books, magazines, and newspapers will need to be mailed directly from the publisher to the prison. They cannot be mailed from your home. All books will need to be paperback. Hardcover books are not permitted.

Keep in mind that the staff at the Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management checks all incoming mail for contraband. If contraband is found, it will not be given to the inmate and it will be discarded.

You will want to put your return address on all mail that you send to the Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management.

If you would like to send an inmate a care package, you will need to get prior approval from the staff at the Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management. When you get the approval, they will give you a list of what you can and cannot send. Please stick to that list. Any items that are not allowed in the facility will be sent back to you, if you have a return address. If you do not have a return address, the items will be discarded.

Prison Life

Inmates in the Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management are housed in dormitories. Within these dormitories are a communal bathroom and common areas. Inmates will have to bunk with their fellow inmates. They do not get to have their own personal space.

Inmates typically will be required to work, if they are healthy enough to. Inmates will be provided with a few work assignments. These work assignments are not all inside the prison walls. There are many work assignments that are out in the community. Inmates will be allowed to work out in the community. The Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management contracts with many organizations in their local community that provide jobs for these inmates.

Inmates that cannot work will be required to enroll in either educational courses, drug education classes, or release preparation courses. While inmates are in the care of Cincinnati Residential Reentry Management, their number one job is to continue to work on themselves. They are paving the way for their future and how it is going to be on the outside.
