Sending a Mail/Care Package

All incoming mail is required to have the inmates full name, SPN, and their housing unit and cell block location along with the sender’s full information (name and address). If any incoming mail does not have the above information, it will be sent back to the sender.

All mail coming into the prison is inspected by the jail staff. Letters sprayed with perfume, makeup, lipstick, or anything else will automatically be sent back to the sender.

You can send inmates 2 paperback books with 4 magazines at a time. Hardback books are not allowed. Books must be new and sent directly from the publisher.

You can also deposit money by using Western Union. You can either go to their kiosks, call them at 1-800-643-3422, or on the internet. The maximum deposit you can do by either phone or online is $300. There is also a service fee involved with this service.

Ace Cash Express

You can deposit money using Ace Cash Express by going into one of their 1485 stores. This service only accepts cash, no credit or debit card payments allowed. The maximum amount you can send is $1,000. There is also a fee for this service.

Mail

You can mail money orders and cashier’s checks to the prison in Lake County Jail itself. They must be payable to the “Inmate Trust Fund” along with their name and SPN at the bottom. If they are not made payable to the “Inmate Trust Fund”, they will be sent back to the sender. You can send the cashier checks and money orders to the following address:

Visitation

Visitation is a privilege in Lake County Jail. Visitation can be provoked without any warning. Visitors must have their government ID on them to be permitted into the visiting area. Inmates allowed to have 2 adults and 2 children visiting at a time. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors must adhere to jails dress code.

Holiday

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
