The Multnomah County Jail is in Portland, Oregon. The facility is operated and managed by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Department. 

Multnomah County runs the largest county jail system in the entire state. The jail system is composed of two facilities, The Multnomah County Detention Center and the Multnomah County Inverness Jail. 

The Multnomah County Detention Center is a maximum security jail in downtown Portland. They opened their doors in 1983. It overlaps the Justice Center building. The jail consists of a direct supervision layout. 

The Multnomah County Inverness Jail is a medium-security jail in east Portland. They opened their doors in 1987. They expanded once in 1991 and another time in 1998. Just like the Multnomah County Detention Center the facility also has a direct supervision layout.

Inmates will need money while they are in the Multnomah County Jail. You can deposit money into an inmate's account in a few different ways.

Visitation

Inmates at the Multnomah County Jail can have visitors. All visits are subject to change or even be canceled without notice.

The visiting space is extremely limited, so you will need to schedule your appointment early to get a spot. You will need to be present in the Multnomah County Jail lobby to sign up for visits. You will need to sign up at least 30 minutes before the visiting hours begins. Keep in mind that visits are not always guaranteed. Your visit can be denied or even canceled due to visitor/inmate behavior, keep separates, and court orders.

The Multnomah County Detention Center visits or on the following days:

Saturday: 9am to 2:15pm and 4:15pm to 9:30pm
Sunday: 9am to 2:15pm and 4:15pm to 9:30pm

How Often Can I Visit?

You can visit an inmate if they are available, can accept visitors, and during the visiting hours. You will need to make sure you get to the lobby at least 30 minutes prior to visiting hours starting.

Holiday

The visiting starts in first in, first out type of fashion. No new visitors will be allowed in 45 minutes before the end of the visit day. 45 minutes before the end of the visit day officers start escorting those who were first in out of the visitor room.
