Their approval list can take a few days or longer for family and friends.

Calls are limited to 15 minutes. Inmates have 300 minutes per month. They are awarded an extra 100 minutes a month during the months of November and December (400 minutes a month).

The last way to stay in touch with an inmate at FCI Edgefield is through email. Email is also through Trulincs.

The email program is funded by the inmate trust fund, which is kept up with purchases from the commissary, the telephone service, and fees paid directly to Trulincs.

Emails are monitored and screened for content not suitable for them.

The commissary was founded in 1930 by the Department of Justice. The Commissary was placed in all Federal Institutions.

The commissary allows inmates to shop for “luxury” items while they are in prison. Funds are typically deposited by their friends, families, and their prison jobs.

Inmates have a spending limit of $360 per month. The commissary is only open on a designated day of the week where they can utilize the shop.

All federal prisons have their commissary list with prices available to the public.

Even when in prison, you may still need legal counsel. There are strict procedures one will have to follow to obtain legal reference materials alongside their legal counsel.

There are also many opportunities to be taken advantage of to afford the proposal of legal documents when behind bars.

All procedures for legal activities can be located here.

Inmates can receive visits from their family and friends. Visitors are allowed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.

Friday hours are from 5pm to 8pm. Weekend hours along with federal holidays hours are from 8am to 2pm.

Visitors will need to be on the inmates approved visitors list. The inmate can only have up to 20 people on their list at any given time.

Inmates are only permitted to have 4 adults to visit at one time. This number does not include children under the age of 16.

The FCI Edgefield visitation room has a capacity of 288 people. The satellite prison camp visitation room has a capacity of 164 people.

As the rooms start to fill, the first visitors in will be asked to leave. Visitation is on first in, first out basis.
