FCI Bastrop is commonly known as the Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop. FCI Bastrop is a low-security federal prison. It houses male inmates in Bastrop, Texas. It is operated and managed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The facility also has a satellite prison camp adjacent to the main campus. This prison camp houses male minimum-security prisoners.

FCI Bastrop is situated 8 miles north of Bastrop, but 30 miles southeast of Austin, Texas.

The facility opened their doors in 1979. They can hold up to 1,356 male inmates. This includes about 1,188 inmates in their main campus alongside another 168 male inmates at their satellite campus.

In November 2009, two inmates, Adan Chavez and Leandro Luna ran away from FCI Bastrop. The pair simply walked off the premises, as the prison does not have a security fence. Authorities did not notify the public until two days after the escape. Four days later the pair was apprehended in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico just across the U.S. border from Del Rio, Texas.
