However, you can send the following items with your letter:
As for packages, all packages will need to be sent using an approved third-party vendor. Inmates are typically only allowed to receive one package every quarter. The max limit is 30 pounds a year.
You can send money to prisoners in Tri-Cities Work Release three different ways.
This is a free way to send money. When sending money, it can take less time than mailing the money to the prison for it to post. However, it is longer than the EFT option.
The electronic funds transfer is the only method that will incur a fee. The fee will be dependent on what service you use and how much you are sending at once. A well-known service many people use is JPay.
You can mail a personal check, cashier’s check, or a money order directly to the jail. This is completely free. However, all funds will be held for 30 days. You will also need to write your name and address on it along with the prisoner’s name and identification number (CDCR).
For visitation, you must first be on the inmates approved visitors list. In order to get on the approved visitors list, you must fill out the form and send it back. This process can take a few weeks as they will be doing a thorough background check.
The Tri-Cities Work Release will NOT give you a call back with their decision. You will need to keep in contact with the inmate.
Visitation is held on days from schedule.
You can visit as often as there are appointments.
Keep in mind that visiting can be canceled without notice. If the prison goes into a lockdown, no visitation will be granted. If the inmate is not in good standing, visitation will not be granted.
