RRM Montgomery is also known as the Montgomery Residential Reentry Management. This facility is one out of the twenty-five facilities in the United States. Montgomery Residential Reentry Management is like a halfway house.
Montgomery Residential Reentry Management is home to inmates that were transferred here from federal prisons. The purpose of the facility is to provide with all the tools they will need when they are finally released from prison.
Montgomery Residential Reentry Management is operated and managed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The facility also serves the local corrections, federal courts, state corrections, and the United States Marshals Service.

A big part in the rehabilitation process for inmates is to have a support system in place. The Montgomery Residential Reentry Management encourages the family and friends of the inmates to write to them. Communication with family and friends at this stage if vital part of their rehabilitation plan.
All incoming mail to the prison is checked for contraband before given to the inmate. Anything that goes against the prison protocol will be properly discarded.

Each inmate can be placed in a few housing locations. You will have to get in contact with the RRM Supervisor of the inmate to get information on where you can send money.
Inmates can also receive visitors while they are at the Montgomery Residential Reentry Management. Visitors will need to be placed on the approved list. For approval, it will take up to a month. Visitors that are felons will be denied. Everyone visiting and over the age of 16 must be on the list and have their driver’s license or their state identification card ready to present upon arrival.

Inmates housed in the Montgomery Residential Reentry Management are housed in dormitories. These dormitories come equipped with common areas and communal bathrooms. Inmates will be bunking with their fellow inmates. Inmates will have their own personal room. However, inmates can take advantage of the entire dormitory during the day. No areas are off limits.
Inmates will have a structured day. They will have three meals including; breakfast, lunch and, dinner. Inmates can watch television or play board games in the common area during their downtime.
While the Montgomery Residential Reentry Management does not feel as if they are in prison. They still are. All inmates who are healthy enough to hold a job, will hold a job while they are in the facility. The job assignments can be anything from food work to maintenance and everything in between. Not all job assignments are in the four walls of the prison. There are job assignments that allow inmates to go out into the community and work. The Montgomery Residential Reentry Management contracts with many organizations in the community to provide the best possible jobs and tools for inmates to prepare themselves for what is to come.
For those inmates who are not healthy enough to work, they will be required to enroll in either a release preparation course, drug education course, and educational courses. All of these programs will be providing the inmates with all the tools they will need once they are released from the Montgomery Residential Reentry Management custody.
